Privacy policy

The short version: we collect only what we need to send you reports, we never sell or rent it, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.

This policy covers pickersdesk.com and the emails and reports from Picker's Desk, a trade name of Global Qwest, Inc. ("we," "us").

What we collect from you

• When you subscribe or request an area: your email address, and anything you choose to add: first name, what you sell, and the area you're interested in.
• When you email us: your message and contact details.
• Email activity: our email provider records whether an email was opened or a link clicked. We use this only to see what's useful and to keep inactive addresses off the list.
• If you buy a paid plan (when offered): your payment processor handles card details. We never see or store your full card number.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
• The website uses no tracking cookies, analytics or ad scripts. Fonts are served from our own site.

Who helps us

We use a few service providers that process data only on our behalf: Kit (email sign-up and delivery), GitHub Pages (website hosting), Zoho (email) and, for paid plans, a payment processor. They're not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.

Information in our reports

Reports contain information that government agencies make public, such as business names, license and permit details, addresses and, where the record lists them, the names of license holders or contractors. We don't publish personal phone numbers or personal email addresses. If you're named in a record and believe an entry is wrong, or you want it reviewed, email us with the record number and we'll respond promptly.

How long we keep it

We keep subscriber information while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your address on a suppression list so we never email you again. Ask us to delete it entirely and we will.

Your choices and California rights

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing roger@pickersdesk.com. California residents have these rights under California law, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We'll confirm your request and respond within 45 days.

Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect as little as possible.

Children

The service is for businesses and isn't directed at anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and email subscribers about material changes.
